Castucci's an Italian joint: Experience Authentic Italian Dining in Southport

We have dined at Castucci’s numerous times in the past but I have never bothered to submit a review. We always expressed our satisfaction to the staff after each visit. Now I want everybody to know how great this place is. My wife and I were greeted by Rhonda as soon as we walked in. My wife ordered the short rib ravioli special and I did not hesitate to order the veal special. Both dishes were exceptional. Our server Destiny was on top of everything from drinks to apps and to desert. Can’t wait to go back.

Castucci’s was such a wonderful experience!! My boyfriend and I are what we like to call “foodies” and we love finding small, local venues with special recipes. We’ve had our eye on this place the past few times we’ve been in the area and finally decided to give it a try. We called earlier in the day to get a reservation as someone had suggested. It’s a pretty small venue, so we also recommend the reservation. Our reservation was at 7:30pm and the hostess informed us they were just waiting on tables to be able to flip and seat us. We got to our seat and it had some breadsticks and olive oil/balsamic vinegar to dredge the bread. It was delicious!! We were promptly greeted by our server, Chris. He was very nice and polite and very knowledgeable about the menu items. We ordered drinks and my boyfriend stated it was the best Long Island Iced tea he had ever had. We were teetering on a few different items-and Chris was nice enough to bring a generous sample of the alfredo sauce for us to try, I will say it was the best I’ve ever had. We ultimately ordered the penne with vodka sauce and added grilled chicken, we also ordered spaghetti and meatballs. By this point we were able to try 3 different sauces and they were all hearty and phenomenal. We then ordered the tuxedo cake for dessert and it was SO delicious and not too rich as some can be. I took half my meal home and enjoyed the next day. The atmosphere was great, the staff are all very friendly and light-hearted. We complimented Chris on the way out, we were told just a few simple months ago he was the bus boy then had moved to server, so they were very happy to hear how well he was doing as a server! We highly recommend dining here!!

I cannot give this restaurant enough praise. The food is fantastic, the portions are HUGE, the staff are friendly, and the aesthetic is super cozy and laid back. The worst part about the nature experience is not being able to decide what to order because everything always tastes wonderful! Our personal favorites are the Veal Parmesan and the Gnocchi Napoli. The gnocchi especially has so much flavor that will give your taste buds a wake up call. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation

Authentic Italian food with excellent service. We enjoyed the Arancini special as an appetizer, then we had the Shrimp Risotto and Chicken Parmesan. Risotto was not as firm as my Italian grandmother would make, but was garlicky and delicious. Big portions esp for the chicken Parmesan. Attentive and fast service. Highly recommended if you’re looking for good Italian in OKI or Southport.

On vacation with my husband and we stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night. We didn’t have a reservation but they were kind enough to find us a table. The food was AWESOME! We had calamari appetizer and my husband had the chicken parmigiana and I had the eggplant parmigiana. We finished with tiramisu and something peanut butter. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend- better call ahead to reserve a table.

The restaurant is very unique, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the daily specials and the menu. I had the double-stuffed flounder with spinach and crab meat. It was delicious, but the flounder could have used some more seasoning.

Friends brought us here last night (25 June 2023). I had not heard of this place at all. Glad our friends invited us out to dinner. The building is small and parking is tight/limited. We had to wait to get a parking space. There were people waiting outside to get in. Must be a good place, I thought. We had 6:30pm reservations and ended up waiting almost 30 minutes. My friend was told two tables had not been cleared as those guests had finished their meals but were just hanging out. Hey, if it's a packed place with people waiting with reservations, how about some courtesy and moving on? Finally at our table, we ordered drinks. I had a tasty lemoncello martini. Their martini's are $14, al little on the pricey side, but very good. Other drinks that were ordered; a red wine, a Manhattan, and a dry martini. Everyone liked their drinks. Fresh bread and butter was served. For our meals, I had a special, a chicken sorrentino with proscuitto, sliced tomatoes, mozzarella and a light and flavorful marsala sauce; and angel hair pasta. Small Caesar salad too. DH had the broccoli rabe with sliced sausage and penne pasta. Friends had the eggplant rollatini and Veal Sorrentino. The food was fantastic! Big portions too. We all had leftovers! Yum! Our server, sorry I forgot his name, was excellent. Despite every table being full, we didn't wait long at all for our drinks and food. Overall, an excellent dinner with great service. I look forward to going back soon!

Three of us all gave 5 plus stars for the delicious appetizer (calamari), salmon, eggplant parm and shrimp dishes. Each dish was full of fresh spices, flavor and cooked to perfection. Our dinners were served hot including the delicious, crunchy bread. Thank you Michelle for making our first visit a memorable experience.
